Wolverhampton CSSC Holiday Home Do’s/ Dont’s & Tips – MUST READ PLEASE !
Please note that for 2024 we have refreshed the kitchen cupboard doors and drawer fronts which have all been replaced
2022 New Wi Fi:
Due to problems with the on site Wi Fi for as long as I can remember we have invested in our own TP Link wireless router which has unlimited data and can take multiple devices at the same time. It has already been tested by streaming a Sky football match and a Netflix film and worked without issues. As with all Wi Fi the signal can occasionally drop but during testing it was only off for a few seconds a couple of times so was not an issue.
Go to Wi Fi settings on your device and choose either of the SSID: TP- Link networks but you should find that the top one will give you the fastest speed, finally enter the password/pin of 95139494 into your device
We hope you enjoy this new addition which is completely free for members to use

There is a new mains charger and universal lead for the tablet and bluetooth speaker, will you please make sure that they remain in the caravan at all times as we all have our own chargers and leads and on more than one occasion the charger and lead in the caravan have been taken home by a member or one of their party, there is no suggestion that they have been stolen, but they have probably got mixed up and taken by mistake thinking that they personally belong to someone staying in the caravan and it is easy to do when you are packing to go home. If there is no charger and lead in the caravan it could mean that members cannot use the tablet and speaker if they do not have one of their own with them and it is there for all to use
Outside Storage Box:
There is a new grey and white “ upright “ outside storage box , please use this from now on, keys are hanging underneath the kitchen cupboard to the left of the sink.

Caravan - other things to note
Please note that the prices were increased in 2019 by £40 per week purely to accommodate a new cleaning service. In the past we have expected the outgoing member to leave the caravan clean for the next ingoing member and it has worked fine in general but over the last couple of seasons one or two more complaints have been received about the standard of cleaning so we have decided to introduce a cleaning service on changeover each week. So on leaving you will still need to leave the caravan in good order etc but will not have to use the hoover etc before you leave which lets face it is always a chore you could do without when going back home after a holiday. We hope you enjoy the new service and our prices are still probably the best you will find on this park and still less than Haven charge in one of their own caravans.
The park has also undergone a multi million pound major refurbishment around the Bonga Wonga club and Mash & Barrell pub ready for the 2019 season so the facilities will be even better than they usually are.The plans include the development of a new activities adventure park, the demolition of part of an existing restaurant and entertainment venue and the construction of a new high quality restaurant, pub and new holiday home owners facility.
Our caravan is a Swift Auvergne model, pictures of which you will find on the "Holiday Home Gallery" Page of this website. It is a Platinum rated 2 bedroom model and ideally suited for up to 4 people, but does sleep up to a maximum of 6 as the sofa in the lounge converts to a double bed in seconds ( see pictures below )
Whether you have stayed in our holiday home before or this is your first time please make yourself aware of the following:
You no longer have to report to reception on arrival to get the caravan key. Once you have passed the security gate, go straight to the caravan and the key will be located in a key safe located on the decking attached to the caravan, you will be given the combination to the key safe just before you go on your holiday, and please make sure you return the key to the safe before you leave
The home has double tri fold doors with ceiling to floor blinds, when the doors are open the blinds can move with the wind so please be careful when shutting the doors to make sure the blinds are not trapped in the door runners. In addition when opening the doors fully, twist the handle to unlock but then gently push the doors outwards whilst drawing the doors across the runners. Some members have had issues opening the doors and the pictures below will help

There is a 32inch TV on the wall in the lounge with DVD player and built in Freeview. There is also a smaller TV in the main double bedroom again on the wall and with built in Freeview. Haven has its own TV channel 800 which will give you information about the site and entertainment details so just select 800 on the remote to access.
There is also a free app called " Haven Whats On " available from the App store which is highly recommended, just chose Hafan Y Mor from the list of parks and it gives you a daily list of what is going on and of course you can look at it in advance before you go if you wish.
If you use the main oven in the cooker, please make sure that the metal racks that hold the cooking tins are in the correct way around with the raised lip at the back as this stops the metal tins going right to the back of the oven when the door is shut otherwise the tins will be directly above the gas flames and you will get a burning smell ! (particularly with the bottom shelf ). Please also make sure that the oven is left as you found it with the glass doors clean and the metal tins washed ready for the next person.
The hoover and ironing board are located under the single beds in the second bedroom and a hair dryer can be found in the main double bedroom dressing table drawer.
There is no longer an outside BBQ , disposable ones are available in the park shops or you can pick them up from the shops in Pwllheli and we do have a portable BBQ stand located in the outside storage box. Please do not use them on the plastic decking as it could get damaged by the heat..
There is a rattan patio furniture set on the decking, and some extra fold up chairs in the outside storage box should they be needed. The cushions for the rattan set are on top of the wardrobe in the main bedroom, please keep you eye on the weather and take the cushions in if it rains and remember to take them in if you are leaving the caravan for any length of time. There is a key to the storage box padlock hanging up inside the caravan underneath the kitchen cupboard. Please make sure anything removed from the box is put back and the box locked before you leave and make sure the key is left inside the caravan.
We have added a gate to the decking around the caravan following a request by members who have small children
If you need a spare holiday home key during your stay which you may need if your family want to do different things on the site etc, you can obtain one from reception on arrival for a deposit of £10 which will be refunded to you when you return the key at the end of your holiday
If you need to use the sofa bed the double duvet and pillows for it are located in the storage underneath the king size bed in the main bedroom and there are also 3 wardrobes in the main bedroom to provide extra space to hang clothes.
The sofa bed it is easy to prepare and folds down in seconds

How do I get to the beach ?
The beach can be accessed in 2 places and is a leisurely 10/15 minute walk whichever access you choose.
Access 1 - Go out of the holiday home and walk across the grassed area immediately in front towards the swing, turn right at the bottom and go past the caravans for sale on your left and then go left over the bridge. Walk over the bridge until you come to a mini roundabout, then turn right towards “ Pine Lodges/ Mountain View” and walk on the road up the slope following the road past the Pine Lodges, when you get to the top there is a coastal path, follow this to the beach. It is possible to drive a car up to the coastal path so the beach is then only a 1-2 minute walk.(If you continue on the coastal path past the beach there are some spectacular views to be had) This beach is smaller than the other access and has lots of pebbles, but still has a pebble free sandy area which is great at low tide
Access 2 – This is the largest beach, over the bridge and head for the Glendower on site pub/restaurant and keeping it on your left go past to the bottom of the road walking past the chalets on your right, when you get to the bottom turn right. There are lots of rocks visible on this beach too but once on the beach walk for about 2/3 minutes to the left and you will find a large soft sandy beach with acres of room looking towards Criccieth.
Transport
The local bus comes onto the site if you wish to visit anywhere locally without taking the car. Pwllheli is only 3 miles away and Abersoch which is a small town, has a lovely beach and plenty of places to eat and drink.
For those who do not wish to travel by car the National Express coach company will drop off at the site, and there is a railway station only a 5 minute walk from the site “ Penychain Station “
Damage:
If anything gets damaged accidentally, please make sure it is reported as soon as possible, either ring me on 07780 770729 if urgent or if not urgent e mail me at parklandsnine@sky.com. We have insurance so don’t be afraid to report it, we are not about to apportion blame or ask for reimbursement, but incidents which go unreported means there is then a delay in sourcing replacements and this can affect the holiday of the next member following on, so please do report any issues
Arrival & Departure Times:
Do not arrive at the holiday home before 2.00pm unless special arrangements have been made and please vacate the holiday home on the day of departure by 11.00am
Feedback
There is a new page on this website to provide feedback, your opinions do matter to us. If something has gone well let us know, and if something has gone wrong we also want to know so we can put it right. There are a number of comments on the feedback page from CSSC members for you to view.
Gas Boiler & Central Heating
Please do not turn off the gas boiler when you leave, another member will be following you in the holiday home and if not the pilot light uses very little gas. The boiler controls for hot water and central heating are quite straightforward as below.

Electric Fuse/Trip Switch Box
Should the electrics trip ( often when the toaster and kettle are on at the same time ) the box is located inside the wardrobe of the second bedroom with single beds
Pets
Sorry but no pets are allowed in the holiday home ( this must be adhered to )
Problems during your stay
If you have any issues to deal with during your holiday you can phone Rob Cotterell for some advice on mobile 07780 770729, alternatively if something happens which needs immediate attention such as a leak or an electrical problem then please phone the site office on 01758 704531 and they will send over a member of the maintenance team to fix it ( please only contact the office if you have to and not for items such as a blown bulb if you can manage without as we get charged a call out for each attendance )
We have tried to think of everything to make your stay a very enjoyable one, but we are also very reliant on you looking after the holiday home and taking care with all of its fixtures and fittings both inside and out as this helps us to keep our costs down.
Typically the prices we let the caravan out to members are 50% or less of what Haven themselves charge and you also get free passes which makes it a very very good deal, but we can only keep our prices low if you also do your bit and keep everything in tip top condition.
Have a great holiday and please return next year !
