Nefyn & District Golf Club is a spectacular course with views over the sea, there is a small pub which you can reach from the golf course called the " Ty Coch Inn " which was featured in the TV advertisements during the Ryder Cup when held at Celtic Manor , the pictures aside show the spectacular course and the view from the pub bar and there are patio tables outside literally inches from the beach, website links below
Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales and has become a very popular village seaside resort. Great beaches, internationally recognised sailing waters, pleasant climate and beautiful scenery. Its about 12 miles from the caravan. has a beautiful beach and usually home to lots of windsurfers. In recent years it has seen an increase in its popularity and some of the bars and cafes are thriving as a result.
The village has a nice atmosphere, and if you dont want to drive there, public transport comes on the Haven site to get you there and back.

Aberdaron is a small village but has great beaches, the hotel Gwesty Ty Newydd has a balcony area that overlooks the beach and the food is good
A trip to Barmouth on the train is a great day out, this is a coastal route and almost all of the journey is alongside the sea, and some of the scenery is well worth seeing, including an unusual view of Portmeirion from across the bay. The cost is very reasonable with a family ticket available at around £20/£25 for 2 plus 2 on a day ranger ticket .
The train station of Penychain is a 5/10 minute walk from the main entrance of the Haven site and a 12 minute walk from the caravan. It is a request stop so you need to flag the train down and tell the guard on the way back to stop at Penychain. Trains run approximately every 2 hours.
The station in Barmouth is in the centre so not much walking once off the train, and at the bottom end of town nearer the harbour are some nice shops and pavement places to eat including " The Last Inn " which i can recommend for good food and a nice pint !

Black Rock Sands is located in Porthmadog and you can drive your car straight onto the beach which is great if you are planning a picnic as you dont have to carry your gear and chairs across the beach, just find a convenient spot and park up !
There is a charge of about £4 a car but that is for all day so good value. To get there head for Porthmadog which is about 12 miles from the site, travel up the High Street and look for the " Factory Shop " on a right hand corner (and just past the Natwest Bank) then turn right into Bank Place and follow the road for about 3 miles and drive straight onto the beach !
